Chereads / Sold To A Frigid CEO / Chapter 11 - Sugar Daddy

Chapter 11 - Sugar Daddy

She scoffed, accepting the cup of coffee from Matthew. "Sugar daddy?" You had accepted your fate as a dirty old man.

"Sweetheart, I'm an old man but only to your age."

He shook his head as if in disbelief. Lilly gritted her teeth and tried to steady her heart from drumming wildly inside her ribcage. Matthew smells real nice. He smells like how a successful man should be. She had no idea what it was with him but he doesn't smell like her boyfriend Raegan. It's the same thing with that beautiful model that she met outside. They were using the same perfume but it smelled different on her.

Matthew is like that. Just different. He wasn't old at all. From her research, he's just twenty-eight years old. Too young to be a CEO according to some business articles that she had stumbled online but everyone agreed that he has a stellar education. A graduate of Harvard, top of his class.

"I don't know what the hell your father was thinking marrying you off when you're just a kid."

Lilly put down her coffee and stared blankly at Matthew who had a disappointed look on his face. He must be disappointed that he will get her as a wife. Not some leggy supermodel that he seems to like.

She smiled at him innocently. "We both know what my father was thinking."

"And that's okay with you?" He scoffed, puzzled at how this girl reacted to their arranged situation. He fought tooth and nail with his father when he heard that the deal of him getting the CEO position in one of his father's businesses was to get married. Too simple at first glance. Until his father gave him a photo of his future wife. She was wearing a freaking school uniform in that photo. He thought it was an old one until he said her name. He recognized her from the high society scoop tagging her as the debutante of the year.

"Matt-Matt, you're older than me. Tell me, does my want matter at all?" She asked matter-of-factly. "After all, from my understanding, this is a marriage of convenience."

"Lilly, right?" He asked in a controlled tone of voice. He planned to deal with her with kindness but she was starting to irk him. He wasn't sure what it was exactly. It could be the taunting tone of her voice or how nonchalant she was walking into this agreement like she doesn't effing care about her own well-being, or it could be the fact that she didn't think much of being his wife!

He knew Mr. Morgan was a shrewd businessman—a cunning snake. He had proof of how ruthless Mr. Morgan was in one of his safety deposit boxes. And this daughter of his appeared to be cut from the same cloth as her father.

She was sitting innocently in front of him but her whole demeanor was telling him otherwise. It seemed like she was just another boring spoiled brat that couldn't survive the cruel word without daddy's credit card.

"Do you have a boyfriend, Lilly?" He leaned against the couch and watched Lilly's eyelashes flutter like butterfly wings, kissing a delicate petal that was her cheeks. He almost smacked his head with what he was thinking.

She stiffened. She didn't expect the questions from Matthew. She was thinking that this meeting was just a formality. She would meet him and he would open his wallet to give her the money. Now, they were drinking coffee—that he made for her and he was asking a question she wasn't sure how to answer.

"Yes, I have." She chose to answer truthfully. Besides, she didn't feel much about Reagan. Their relationship was more of a beneficial agreement between the two of them. She knew for a fact that Reagan slept with other women. She didn't care since she wouldn't sleep with him. If he has the itch he should have someone scratch it. She promised her mother that she would keep her virginity till she was eighteen. Well, she is eighteen now but she doesn't feel the need or wants to sleep with Reagan.

"Tch," he clicked his tongue. 'Typical' he thought to himself. He doesn't know why it pissed him off to know that his future wife has a boyfriend and she has the audacity to admit it proudly in his face—her future husband. 'This girl has guts' he thought inwardly.

"Why are you being so judgemental?" Her patience snapped. "You have a woman coming out of your office and you're going to give me a look as if I did you wrong when I say I have a boyfriend?" She folded her arms over her chest and tilted her chin up in the air.

Matthew threw his head back and laughed like he had never laughed before. This girl can be a lot of things but boring is not one of her attributes. Maybe it won't be so bad to marry her. But then, he knew that like what Lilly said, it doesn't matter what he wants because just like her, he was coerced into this marriage but unlike her, he had already accepted his prize. The shiny glass sitting on his desk with his name and the title Chief Executive Officer etched on the glass under his name.

"So, how do we do this, Lilly?" He said when he finally stopped laughing. He pulled his wallet out of his back pocket and pulled out a card.

Lilly eyed the card in Matthew's hand. It wasn't a credit card but a debit card. Is he going to limit her spending? She creased her brows in disbelief. Never in her life did she worry if the card she's using has enough balance.

He saw the disappointment in Lilly's eyes when he pulled one of his debit cards and he couldn't help but smirk. Does she think he is going to be just like her sugar daddy that will spend money on her like there was no tomorrow? He shook his head as he pushed the card towards her.

"See you on Monday, Lilly." He said, standing up not waiting for her to react or complain about the card that he gave her.
