"No, Miss Morgan. I am Mr. Grayson's secretary."
Her heart thumped in her chest and she paled. When her father told her that he would take care of it, she didn't expect him to send Mr. Grayson's secretary to pay for her bill. When she got back her bearing, her face flushed in embarrassment.
"I-I'm sorry for taking your precious time, Mr. Gallard." She smiled at the old man, weakly. She wondered what his father was thinking of doing such a thing. It's ludicrous! Why is he making a stranger take care of her? What was he thinking?
She heaved a deep breath to stop the train of thoughts. She could talk to her father later, right now she has to deal with her friends, throwing tantrums, and Mr. Gallard's sudden appearance.
"No need to apologize, Miss Morgan. It's my job and if you excuse me," he glanced over her shoulder, looking at the manager who was waiting to be called. "I'll take care of things here and I suppose you have somewhere else to go with your friends?" He smiled so kindly at her that Lilly couldn't help but beamed at him.
"Thank you!" She grabbed her purse and escaped the awkward situation. However, she didn't get out of the restaurant but detoured to the bathroom where Susan also escaped.
Outside, Tiffany was already inside her car, waiting for them but she was on her phone.
"Listen to me, Andrei! Sue and I did what I thought could expose Lilly's lies but it seems that your information was a bust! And you're making me look stupid and a bitch!"
She was still panting in anger for being the subject of ridicule of those patrons in the restaurant because of the stupidity of the waitress. Who asked to bring out leftover food? Is she insane? She was huffing and puffing when she stormed out of the restaurant, shut herself inside her car, and called her boyfriend—the reason for her sloppy detective work for Lilly.
"I told you, babe, it is what I heard from the party. From Lilly's father's mouth and the owner of that famous real estate developer…shit forgot the name! Anyway, it was Lilly's father himself so I'm not telling you just a baseless rumor." He explained in a panic because he doesn't want Tiffany to be angry at him. Once she gets angry, it will take time, effort, and money to soothe her anger. Out of the three things, he didn't have the time and the money.
His father found out that he wasn't going to follow in everyone's footsteps. He enrolled in a pre-law major instead of a pre-med one. He just canceled all of his credit cards. Something that he needed to make Tiffany happy. He knew that Tiffany has an attitude problem but he just happened to love the girl. What can he do?
"I don't know! But her father's secretary came to the restaurant to settle the matter about her card that was declined," she huffed. "She's such a princess! Why would she have someone take care of her restaurant bill for her." She said, fuming.
Andrei listened attentively to his girlfriend and realized the problem wasn't about the rumor that
Tiffany hasn't proven true but it was the same issue in the past which was Tiffany's jealousy of Lilly—which baffled him. Tiffany is way hotter and prettier than Lilly. And her family maybe wasn't as rich as Lilly but Tiffany's family came from old money. Besides, Lilly is about to be poor, not that he was happy about the other girl's misfortunate, it was just that he could not understand Tiffany's insecurities and jealousy of Lilly.
But he doesn't want Tiffany to be mad at him, hence, he kept his mouth shut and just listened to her rambling. He just made an encouraging sound for her to continue her story even though he was internally rolling his eyes at the back of his head. It's hard to love Tiffany when she is being like this but his heart was a foolish one. Falling in love with her despite her monumental flaws.
"They are here. I've got to go. Come to my apartment later," she snapped at him. She was still pissed off, the complete opposite of how he felt when he heard that she wanted to meet him in her apartment.
Her apartment is a place in an exclusive high-rise residence where most people in the entertainment business live, away from the prying eyes of the paparazzi that were hounding them like a pack of hungry wolves because the building security is tighter than Fort Knox. It does not come as a surprise that a lot of politicians and scumbags own a place in that building for that reason alone.
How in the world Tiffany got a unit in that place was a mystery to him. A mystery that he had no plan of unraveling. He was just too happy to get invited back because Tiffany was the bomb whenever they stay in the place. Tiffany must be stressed out over something worse than her issues with Lilly since she has a habit of wanting to make out every time she has a lot on her mind. Something that he loves about her, I mean, Tiffany is as hot as fvck!
"See you later, babe. I—" He was left with a small tent in his crotch and a phone in his hand with a call that was dropped even before he could finish his sentence. He heaved a deep sigh. He never felt like a pushover in his life other than the way Tiffany treats him. It wasn't anybody's fault since he chose to be like this for her.
He chuckled wryly, starting his car. Tiffany isn't the only one with issues. He is just like her. His problem, however, has something to do with his crotch and his chest that seemed to constrict painfully whenever Tiffany gave him a cold shoulder and had her lower lip stuck out, throwing a major tantrum!
