Silence. Painful silence enveloped the car. Lilly Rose and Matthew stared at the facade of the Highland hotel as though by doing so, their situation would change.
None of them talk as they remained quiet, sitting side by side in the confinement of Matthew's sports car but alone in their own thoughts.
Matthew watched his wife from his peripheral vision and he could see that just like him, she was having a hard time dealing with the things that they have on hand. But, he kept his pride and did not say a word. He had an apology ready at the tip of his tongue but every time he would find the courage to say the word sorry, he would remember how Lilly Rose elaborately lied just to avoid him.
"I'll have Pete bring your stuff. Do you have anything that you want from the house?" He asked, breaking the silence.
