"Why look for another exit when you're right in front of one?"
Lilly Rose literally jumped up when she heard her husband's cold tone, asking what seemed to be an innocent question.
She looked at the security guard who quickly averted his gaze and wore a mask of indifference right after he politely greet Matthew who came back into the building.
Lilly Rose knew that she was on her own and she felt her hands and her feet freeze in nervousness.
"Hi," she greeted her husband with a croak in her voice. She forced a smile from her lips and even without looking at her own reflection, she knew that her smile was awkward and could not be called a smile.
"Hi yourself," Matthew greeted her back with a blank expression. "Ready to come home, wife?"
