Lilly Rose woke up groggily and unmotivated. She tried to stay up late last night, waiting for Matthew to come back home but he didn't come. She had gone to bed at four in the morning hoping that her husband would come home.
She glanced at the clock on her bedside table and sigh. It was quarter to nine and the helper didn't wake her up. She only had classes in the afternoon. She was shy and she did not set an alarm. Besides, the helper would have woken her up if Matthew was in the kitchen, but no. She had slept late because no one woke her up and it meant one thing—her husband was not home.
She pulled the blanket up to her chin and stared at the ceiling and a realization dawned on her. She is now used to the routine of her husband preparing breakfast for the two of them and eating breakfast together before going on their separate ways to spend their day.
