Pete snorted with the shock on Lilly Rose's face. He was just joking about Matthew being jealous because it was Noel.
"What do you mean? Did you know something I didn't know?" Her eyes were still bulging with shock.

If he cannot make her go back to the main house by letting her tell her stories—she was taking a long time telling her stories that he was worried that the one that he was hiding inside his bathroom was now turned into bathroom tiles because of boredom.
