Relief washed over Robert's body when the muscle-man accompanied him to his room.
"Thank you—-" He wasn't able to finish what he was going to say, the muscle-man had already left without a word.
Robert hurried inside and the first thing he noticed was the coppery smell of blood. He turned on the light but it was busted. He hurriedly drew the curtain to have some light in the room.
His heart skipped a beat when he heard a groan on the couch.
"Wh-who?"
"What are you doing here?" He asked the bleeding man on his couch. His face was smashed so that he barely recognized the man.
The man just groaned because he could not talk without blood spouting out of his mouth.
"Who did this to you?" He asked but at the back of his mind, he had an idea who did it to the Governor since he was brought in his hotel room.
The presence of the Governor in his hotel room was for a show. It was for him—to show him what he could do.
