"Markus reported to you?" Matthew had to repeat the questions in incredulity. He had returned from his business trip and he had contacted Markus about the task of what he had asked him to do but all he got as an answer was, he had told Pete everything and if he wanted to hear about it, he should ask Pete.
Pete nodded for the second time at Matthew's question. When Markus told him that he would just tell him everything about the result of the investigation that Matthew had asked him to do, he didn't think he was going to tell him everything about it and wouldn't tell Matthew anymore.
Now, he's sitting in one of the armchairs in Matthew's study and he had been asking him about what Markus did. He was as confused as he was and he could not offer him an answer because what Markus told him was everything he knew.
"The bastard!" Matthew muttered under his breath. He could not believe what his friend did.
