Chapter 1 - The Day Her Life Ended In Tears

She groaned when she felt a gentle shake on her shoulder. Pulling the blanket over her head, she mumbled incoherent words for her bedroom was flooded by the disgusting bright sunlight. She likes the sun. She considered herself a sun worshiper but right now, with barely any sleep, she can't deal with the brightness of her room.

Whoever disturbed her sleep would for sure get an earful from her, however, it has to wait for right now, she was too sleepy to care.

Her debut party was yesterday and it ended until morning—the after party of the party. The party proper was such a bore for she had to listen to some fake congratulatory words from her classmates that weren't really her close friends but came from an important family, thus, meriting an invitation. The rest of the guests were either her mother's friends from the modeling industry or her father's business associates. And they were such a bore!

The only time that she had a good time and actually enjoyed her own eighteenth birthday party, was when she and her close friends moved to a private suite that her father prepared for her in the same hotel where her 18th birthday was held. At her private party, she changed into the party dress that she actually liked, not chosen by her mother, she was with the people that she actually liked, not those that just had to be invited, and most especially, her father had surprised her with her favorite indie-pop bank—After Sex to perform at her private party.

Her party was such a riot, especially when her best friends, Susan and Tiffany started to flirt blatantly with all the members of the band. Thinking of her best friends, she threw the blanket that she was covering over her head off the bed.

"Your father was asking you to come to his study, miss." The maid who woke her up informed her politely.

"We are going to talk later but right now, I want you to leave." She said, pointing at the door.

"But, miss—" The maid gazed at her, almost begging.

"Out. Now!" Her father must have told the maid that she must go down at the study and pretended to be angry. But then, her father never got angry at her. Why would he? She's his only daughter and the sole heiress of his business empire—the Morgan's, a high-end clothing store, where all the Haute de Couture in the market were available, even before it hit their actual stores.

She scanned her room that could be easily mistaken as having been ransacked by some thief with how everything was thrown all over the floor. When she threw her blanket off her bed, she was left with nothing but her skin-tone panty. The dress that she wore in her after-party didn't need a bra and she wanted to be daring since she is now of legal age, that last night, she didn't bother to put a nipple patch on her titties.

Currently, she wasn't in need of a nipple patch. She needs to find her phone to check her SNS (Social Networking Site) to check how many likes and comments she got on her photos from last night.

When her foot reached the floor, she stepped on the second dress that she wore at her afterparty. The dress was a sequined mini-dress with a low-cut neckline. The neckline of the said dress was so low, it even showed her navel that was pierced. She got her navel pierced, a week before her debut in preparation for her trip to the Caribbean with her friends— for the post-after-after party of her debut since her friends will throw another party for her tonight.

She threaded carefully on the messy floor of her bedroom, still searching for her phone when it suddenly rang. She grabbed her pillow and threw it at the foot of her bed when she found her phone under it. Checking the screen of her phone, she saw the name of her boyfriend—Reagan.

She didn't really like him but he is the governor's son, good-looking, smart, and filthy rich. He's the perfect casual boyfriend. Someone that looks good next to her.

"Hello," she mumbled on her phone, making some grunting noises as if his call woke her up because she doesn't want to talk to him.

"Hello, sweetcakes! Are you ready for your party later?"

"If you'll give me enough sleep to get my beauty rest, I can assure you that I'll be ready for you later."

Her sassy reply elicited a peal of laughter from Reagan.

"Honey sugar, there is no way that you'll be ugly."

She rolled her eyes. No man is truly perfect. Despite all of Reagan's good attributes, she hated how he could spout a disgustingly cheesy endearment for her in his every sentence.

"You're right. But it won't stop me from getting my beauty sleep nonetheless." She yawned loudly, making sure that Reagan would hear at the other end.

"Yes, babycakes. I'll see you later."

"Bye," she mumbled under her breath. She uttered a silent prayer that Reagan finally took the hint and said goodbye before she threw up, hearing all the sleazy pet names he had for her.

She grabbed her school hoodie from the floor and put it on, never checking if the hoodie was cleaned or not. She slumped back on her bed, scrolling her SNS, grinning like she won the lottery—not like she still needs it. As the sole heiress of the Morgan's, she was set for a luxurious life from the day she was born.

She was still grinning like crazy, checking every photo of her debut online, reading every comment, and liking those that praised her party when she heard an incessant knock on her door. She was about to ignore it when she heard the voice of the maid from the other side of the door.

"Miss, please…your father is waiting for you in his study."

She clicked her tongue and swung her legs off the side of her bed. She had a feeling that the maid wouldn't leave her alone until she went to her father's study. She picked up a pair of cotton shorts hanging from the chair, put them on, and stomped her feet as she yanked the door open.

"I'm sorry, miss but—"

"You may go now."

The maid scurried away when she heard Robert's voice.

"Daddy!"

"Lilly, darling," her father cooed at her but the usual warmth from his voice was gone.

"Something the matter, dad?"

Robert looked over his shoulder before he pushed his daughter inside her bedroom and closed the door.

"What is it?" She crossed her arms over her chest, pouting her naturally red lips.

"I am sorry, Lilly, but you have to marry my friend's son!"
