I opened my eyes and found myself lying in a dark room. I stumbled to my feet and looked around. It seemed like I was in a basement. The only small window in the room was about two meters high, and this window was the only source of light in the room. There was a metal door on the wall on the left side of the window. Using the only light I had, I made my way to the metal door, then grabbed the door handle and yanked hard. As I expected, the door was locked from the outside.
"Who are you? Why did you bring me here?" I yelled at the door.
"Be quiet," a man said from behind me, and my back went cold with fear.
I turned around and saw the light of a small lighter in the darkness. The light illuminated the speaker's face. It was a handsome and young face.
"Who are you?" I took two steps back while sensing that something bad was about to happen.
"Ravi Hernandez."
I knew the name Ravi Hernandez. He was the heir of the world's biggest mafia family, the Hernandez family. He was a murderous demon, and everyone called him a devil.
Ravi had been staring at me. Under the faint light, his cold gaze terrified me. My heart was beating so fast that it felt like it was going to jump out of my chest. I thought I was going to die.
"You're the one who brought me here." My voice quivered uncontrollably.
"Yes."
"Why?"
"I don't want to see the Diaz family establish an alliance with the Rich family." Ravi extinguished his lighter and stepped toward me.
"I'm not someone important. Neither my family nor the Rich family will care about my life." I took two steps back.
Ravi walked up to me and looked down at me. "What if everyone thinks you ran away on your own?" His deep voice sounded calm, and no emotion could be detected.
I knew the consequences. They took me away from the hotel bathroom in secret. The bodyguards who were waiting for me at the door were most likely knocked out by their injections. Both families must have thought I ran away on my own, and Raul would be the first to kill me. The Rich family would also think that our family was not sincere about the marriage alliance, and would pressure Raul, so that I would have no way out. But why didn't Ravi just kill me?
"What do you want me to do by keeping me alive?" I looked up at Ravi.
"Be my woman." Ravi's right hand held my chin while his eyes were filled with lust.
"Don't even think about it." I shoved Ravi's hand away and glared at him fiercely.
"I'm sure that at this moment, your eldest brother and your fiancé both want to kill you. I can hand you over to any one of them." Ravi lowered his head and whispered in my ear, "Die, or be my woman. You have no other choice."
Ravi led me to the car. On the way, neither of us spoke. He was busy handling emails on his tablet while I sat across from him and looked out the window. It was then that I realized I was no longer in Philadelphia, but in New York.
The car drove to a manor on the outskirts of New York. The security here was very tight. I wouldn't be able to escape. The car stopped at the door of the villa and Ravi got out. He walked around to my side and opened the door for me. I hesitated again, but in order to survive, I got out of the car and followed him into the villa.
The villa was huge and modern. However, I was in no mood to admire the villa.
Ravi unbuttoned his shirt as he went upstairs and entered a room. I followed.
This was Ravi's bedroom. It was very large and very manly. There was a black cabinet door and a gray wall. In the middle of the room was a bed with a black and white checkered carpet under the bed.
Ravi took his shirt off and threw it on the bed. He revealed his perfect biceps and abs. As he stood under the chandelier, I got a good look at him. He had silver hair and deep blue eyes, and he looked slightly over twenty. There was no expression on his cold and intimidating face. There was a skull tattoo, the symbol of the Hernandez Mafia family, on the right side of his neck.
"Undress," he told me with no emotion in his eyes.
If I wanted to live, I had to obey him. I took the necklace off and threw it on the ground. Then, I reached for the zipper on my back. I couldn't pull the zipper down no matter what. Ravi came over and gently pulled the zipper. My maxi dress instantly fell to the ground. He scooped me up and carried me to the bed, then gently placed me on it. He had one arm over his upper body and he was bent over me, while his other hand tucked my hair behind my ear. He licked his lips as he said in my ear, "Do you know what to do?"
I shook my head, and a tear fell from the corner of my eye. I was afraid to look into his eyes, so I turned my face away from him.
"You're a virgin?"
I closed my eyes and shook my head again.
His hand stopped moving, and the atmosphere instantly tensed up. I still didn't dare to look into his eyes, but I could feel him watching me. I opened my eyes and from the corner of my eyes, I saw him raise his right hand. I instinctively dodged, but nothing happened.
Ravi got off of me and sat beside the bed for a few seconds. He stood up, walked into his walk-in closet, opened the door to the closet, and pulled out a white shirt from inside before turning toward me. He threw the shirt to me and said, "Put it on."
I quickly got dressed. Ravi took my wrist and led me out of his room to a room on the opposite side and gestured for me to enter. I pushed open the door to a nicely decorated guest room. He closed the door and left.
I was relieved. Perhaps he wasn't in the mood. Either way, I was safe for the time being. I locked the door and turned the knob repeatedly to make sure it was really locked. I even brought a chair up to the door. I sat on the chair in front of the door, and my shock subsided. I got up and walked to the window, where I saw seven to eight bodyguards downstairs. Each of them was armed with a shotgun. They patrolled the mansion, and from time to time, they looked upstairs. I quickly closed the curtains. I told myself to calm down. I took a few deep breaths, and suddenly, I thought of something important.
I turned on all the lights in the room and carefully checked every corner, including the ceiling, the chandelier, the interior of the bedside lamp cover, the bottom of the table, and the side of the cabinet. I wanted to make sure that there were no wiretaps or cameras in the room. I was familiar with the Mafia's usual tricks. After checking for more than ten minutes, I didn't find any devices. Only then was I slightly relieved.
I took a quick shower and put on the white shirt that Ravi had tossed to me. I tiptoed to the door and pressed my ear to the crack to listen carefully. There was no sound. Only then was I at ease with climbing into the bed. I didn't turn off all the lights in the room, just in case. I sat with my back against the head of the bed and the blanket over my legs. My eyes were glued to the door as I kept reminding myself not to fall asleep.
