It was yet another night, and still no sign of Rafael. It wasn't as though she didn't know where he was in his study room, but why the neglect? He could accept a meal from Petra but never came to see her in the room for once. If only he had explained how things were going to be in the next two days then she wouldn't be so worried and frustrated as she was now. Everything would have taken effect fully.
What she did not understand was why he never asked her to prepare for what is coming and why he never called her either. It didn't make sense at all.
For this reason, Adriana made up her mind to return to her pack. It wasn't as though she did not have a pack to take care of. She must have been stupid to even wait on him for days like his lady-in-waiting.
Even a lady-in-waiting is told what to do by her king.
