Chapter 12 - TANTRUMS

RAFAEL

It'd been five years ever since Adriana ran away from the pack. He had searched for her the best way he could, but he never found her.

He wondered if she was able to escape successfully or if she had died.

Either way, he blamed himself for what happened. If only he could see her again, he would be sure to apologise for what he did to her.

Despite the fact that she was an omega, she did not give him the right to treat her that way. She deserved to be loved and respected.

His pack had gone through series of hardships and disasters from rogues. It seemed as though he was being punished for what he did to her in the past. If only he could right all his wrongs. But regret still would not help him.

Since he was made Alpha, and couldn't find his mate, he decided to get married to Petra, who became his luna. She got pregnant the next year and gave birth to their beautiful daughter, Violet.

But unfortunately, he lost Petra in a car accident while she went shopping with their daughter. It was a miracle that his daughter survived the accident.

It was the following year, his pack got attacked by unknown rogues, killing almost all members of his pack.

He felt terrible when he discovered that Adriana's parents were among those that died. At that moment, he felt like he was the worst Alpha that ever existed. He helplessly watched his pack raised to the ground.

The only thing that was left was his company. And thankfully, he was able to build his pack from scratch again. He knew it wouldn't be easy getting the pack back on its feet.

For this reason, he had travelled around the world in search of good business partners and investors for his company. In just two years, he noticed that he had been making progress in business. He believed the moon goddess had finally come to his aid.

He had suffered for a while. However, compared to the pain he had caused other people, what he went through was just a tip of the iceberg.

If he really was to be in the shoes of those he bullied he was sure that he wouldn't have lived to tell the story.

"Alpha Rafael, don't you think it was better do business with your partners with your identity known?"

"Not yet, Lucas. I still do not have the ability to face the outside world yet. It's best I do things this way.

When I'm ready, the world will know Rafael Panther of the crimson moon pack is still alive and well."

"What about the general meeting that was to take place tomorrow?"

Rafael breathed a long sigh.

"Same as usual?"

" But they are beginning to raise their brows. I mean you can't keep running away from them forever, you know.

"So what do you suggest I do then? Show up and what? Lucas, you of all people know my real intentions.

I'm still trying to build our pack to the standard it should be. What do you think would happen to our pack if we get attacked again?"

"You mean the enemy might just be inside the company?"

"I mean we have to be careful until our pack is standard. As the Alpha of this pack, I have a greater responsibility for the pack. I would surely honour the opening one day, but for now, I have to make my pack strong enough. This way, when I go out in the open, I will be proud of my pack and we would command respect from the Alphas of other packs.

"Yea, you are right. Alpha Rafael. The pack must be strong enough to be introduced to the outside world."

Rafael smiled inwardly at the knowing that his beta understood where he was coming from.

Just then, Rafael heard quick footsteps coming towards his office. He could tell that it was whatever the problem might be, was dire.

And just as he had predicated, Aunt Philly came into view carrying a worried expression. Not again!

"Alpha Rafael,"

"Don't tell me it's V again,"

"Well, good thing you understand your daughter so well, and yes, it's her again."

"What does she want now?"

Philby sat in one of the vacant chairs, while he mind linked Lucas to leave first.

"Rafael, she's getting worse every day. She needs someone who could deal with all of her ta tantrums, don't you think?"

"Someone to deal with her tantrums? You know I don't have a luna yet, aunty'. Where on earth do you want me to go in search of my mate?"

"Listen, you don't need a mate. V's mom was never your mate, but you both lived happily. I think all you need to do is find her a responsible woman."

At times like this, Rafael does get frustrated. He wished things didn't have to be this way. He wished there was a better way out for him.

Violet was a sweet child, but when her episodes arose, she got wild and if proper care wasn't taken, she could go as far as hurting herself. He was trying his best as a good father, though he knew he wasn't perfect. Maybe not even the kind of dad V wants.

Rafael quickly stood up from where he sat and walked over to his daughter's room.

"Hey V, I'm coming in now?"

She didn't respond to him. Rafael stood at the door frame, totally confused about what he was to do.

He heaved a long sigh, and slowly pushed the door open and walked in.

Rafael gasped when he saw the state of the room. It looked like a total wreckage. He took a glance at the bed, but didn't find anyone on the bed.

He had no idea what she used in shopping off the hair of the baby dolls he had bought for her.

What a sight to behold. Rafael placed both hands on his hips.

"V, its not funny what you did here, you know? He reached for one of the dolls and picked it up.

"I remember how you pleaded with me to get you white-haired Cindy. But see what you did to white-haired Cindy? It's not fair, you know?"

"Lemme alone," the tiny voice replied angrily."
