A fragile-looking young boy with pale skin jumped up from his slumber, sweat was rolling down his face as his heart was quickly palpating. As the young boy was about to get up, a gentle, worried voice, spoke out.
"What's wrong Sage?"
The young man turned to his left to see a feminine figure brushing her ashen hair nervously.
"It's nothing, mom." Sage said hesitantly.
Instantly a wave of regret struck at the young mans heart, as he felt bad for lying to his mother, but he was determined not to worry her any further.
As Sage slowly stood up, he made his way to the sink. He slowly turned on the faucet and washed his face. As the cold water dropped down his face, he found himself looking at his reflection.
Visions of his dream started flooding his mind. Glimpses of war, devastation, and death were the only things he could see, and somehow, he was in the center of it all.
Suddenly, a voice rang out, "Sage, come back to sleep." As Sage turned around, he noticed his mother, staring at him with a worried expression.
"Yeah I know, Just had a weird dream."
Slowly, Sage made his way back over to his bed, and crawled back into the comfort of his warm blanket. After about 30 minutes of staring at a blank wall, the young man started fading in and out of consciousness, until he fell back asleep.
More visions of war appeared in his dream, this time more clear. Pitch black creatures, almost like shadows, ran around slaughtering everyone at supersonic speed. Flames overtook all of the surrounding buildings, leaving no where for the people to hide, forcing them out into the open.
Unable to move, all Sage could do is sit their and watch.
"STOP IT, PLEASE!"
Begging was all the young man could do, as his body wouldn't listen to him. Out of nowhere, Sage caught a glimpse of a pale figure, stepping in and out of existence.
In an instant, all of the Shadow creatures fell to the ground, their bodies split in half. Behind the creatures, a huge armored man in black obsidian armor stood. The man brandished a huge hammer covered in white scales, almost identical to dragon scales shown in story books.
"Wake up Sage, it's time to go." Suddenly, the visions disappeared, and Sage launched up from his slumber, sweating yet again.
A look of confusion washed over his mother's face, "Honey, are you sure you're alright?"
"Yeah, I'm fine. It's just hot in here, nothing to worry about."
"If you say so." His mom responded, still sceptical.
As the months went on, Sage kept having these visions, them getting more vivid as time went on. He didn't know what they meant, but he was determined to find out as soon as possible.
