Lilith was sent back to her room soon after, Annette telling her to take a rest.
"I'm sure you'd like a good rest after that horrible experience you have, dear. Go up your room. I'll be calling for you later."
"But, Grandmothe--"
"Upstairs, Lilith." The smile was still there on her face, but her grandmother's eyes looked cold and dead. "We'll be dealing with the problem in town, so just stay in your room. You two, as well, Sol and Luna. As for Aurora. . ."
And so the adults all escorted them back to their rooms before going out of the house. Lilith had heard the clicking of the lock on the main door as they left.
Earlier, she had paced around her room trying to think of what to do. When her grandmother had been telling her about Aurora, she didn't get a single word to say. She blankly noted her own mother whimpering somewhere behind her, but she was too caught up listening about Aurora's gift that she didn't even tried to look to their direction.
To see the future, to predict an incoming tragedy. . . no wonder Aurora was too afraid of her own magical gift and to go out of her room. To see only the bad things that would happen to people in the future. . . Of course the others would be too scared of her or even misunderstood her.
But still. . .
"That's not a right enough reason to lock her down there all these years," Lilith whispered to herself. She had curled herself on her bed when she finally accepted the fact that she can't do anything right now. She needs to get out of the house to find Aurora. The girl had never been in town, and she's afraid that the crowd took sight of her and mistook her to Lilith. If any more bad things would happen while she's out there. . .
Lilith groaned and buried her face on her knees. This was probably the worst idea she'd ever thought of. Why did she even pushed Aurora to go out? She should have listen to her reasons first before dragging the girl with her.
A knock sounded on her door. When she looked up, she saw Sol poking his head inside. "Oh good, you're here." Without any word, he invited himself in and casually took an empty seat close to her bed. A moment later, Luna, looking a little reluctant.
"What are you guys doing here?" She asked as the two get themselves comfortable.
"What do you mean?" Sol looked at her questioningly. "We're going to start planning on the escape-the-casa-solerna agenda."
"Wait, what?!"
"Sol! Can you stay serious for a minute?" Luna glared to the boy.
"What? No matter what we decide, we all want to get out of this house, one way or another."
"Wait, you guys want to get out of here?" This time, Luna gave her a glare that's part angry and painful. "This is why I sometimes can't stand you," the older girl sighed.
"If you're here to only get a go at me then you can see yourself out."
"Okay, I think it's you who need to be serious, Luna," Sol looked at the other disapprovingly. "And yes, Lilith, we're quite serious on this one."
Lilith took on both her older cousin's serious expression. "Why?"
This time, Luna sighed. "You've met Aurora, have you?"
Lilith wants to groan. "It seems I'm the only one that doesn't know about her."
"Of course you don't know her. Grandmother would do anything to keep Aurora's existence from you."
"But why? Why would she tried to keep her a secret to me? She's my. . ." Lilith paused.
"You know of the curse of our family, right?"
"Of course I do. What does this have to do with anything?"
"For generations, our family can only have one child as heir to continue on the magic that binds us with our abilities. Only Grandmother Annette had been the sole exception with her Blessings of Life. But the rule itself is not so tight-lid, and other exceptions can also happen."
Sol pointed a finger at her. "You're one of the examples of that loophole," he continued on. "Well, you and Aurora that is. The magic can only recognize one birth per family, and since you and Aurora are born twins, the magic only recognized Aurora. In simpler terms, the magic kinda skipped you because it didn't noticed you."
Lilith blinked at them. "Skipped. . . How did you even find these things? Can you even hear what you two are saying?"
"It's true," Luna said to her. "Well, someone long ago theorized it, but they didn't have any way to test it since aside from you, only one other pair of twins were ever born in our family."
The more Lilith listened the more she believed that her two cousins were really serious about this. "And how do you know this?"
Luna took a small old notebook from her pocket. "You're two are not the only ones who sneaks around the house, you know." She put the notebook on the side table. "It's written by a little girl named Camille. In almost every entry, she would mention her sister who looked just like her and how the two of them often play pranks to their parents by pretending to the the other one."
Lilith took the notebook and flipped through it. "And how does this have anything to do with any of the things you're talking about?"
"The girl seemed to be of poor health, there's a lot of entry where she's bedridden for days on end after getting drizzled by rain or other things. She also didn't have any magical gifts like you."
Lilith looked her, surprised. "There were others like me in our family?"
Luna nodded. "But she didn't stay like that for long." Her younger cousin looked at her confusingly. "She managed to receive a gift of her own. . . by doing something herself."
"I can. . . There's a way to have a magical ability?" Lilith asked, a small bud of hope blooming inside her chest.
Luna gave her a small smile, but it was sad one. "All wishes has a price, Lilith. Like how all of us need to give something up because of our blessings, and wishing for a gift also asks for a price to exchange."
"Something that our grandmother knows well," Sol inserted. "And that's why she needs you to make her plans with that ambassador to happen."
"Me?"
"Only one child could be born in every family's generation," Luna took the notebook back from her. "If you want to wish for a blessing, whatever ability you might want, you'll need to kill Aurora yourself. That way, the rule of bestowing magical gifts to the children to the family Solerna will then be moved to you.

Author's Note: This chap's supposed to be posted yesterday, but I was too brain-tired that I failed to finish it until now.
With this, the story had completely flew off the original plot I drafted, but I'd like to believe that it's still somewhat intact haha. What do you guys thought of this?
