After Marcus had been taken to the police station for questioning and for his statement, Cindy and Jade jumped into a taxi and headed back home. Mr. Front had advised them that they not be at the station because of the emotional connection they shared with Marcus.
Cindy was even more distraught and required Jade's arm to rest on as they made their way home. Misfortune had her in its scope and was firing darts at will. She had to take it or quit. But quitting was not an option, and so she soldiered on.

Having walked away from the gentle beauty, Jake wallowed in his misery. As he regathered his thoughts, he blamed himself for making Ivy feel the way he assumed he had made her feel. His words had been uncalled for as had been her actions when she grabbed his phone and spoken to Cindy. But she had done it in jest. He, on the other hand, had been serious.
