"Marcus, there is nothing here."
Cindy and Jade stared and marveled at an empty space.
"She left me. And she left me with nothing."
They were standing in the midst of the living which was quite spacious. It was also very empty. There wasn't even broken furniture. All there was, was emptiness.
"What happened?" Jade asked as she ventured into the center of the void.
On the wall was a drawn portrait of what seemed to have been a happy family. Cindy came and stood before it, Marcus followed and joined her.
"What happened love?" she asked as she took his hand and clasped it in hers.
"I screwed up," he responded.
They both could detect the remorse that echoed in his shaky voice. Jade came to them and stood beside Marcus who now occupied the middle spot.
"I hate to disappoint you in that area of achievement young bro. You are last."
Marcus did not understand, but Cindy did having known Jade and her manner of speaking.
