Hungover from the events of the past night, it was a mixture of emotion as the crew sat down for breakfast. Cindy was not taking anything for granted and would not leave Jake out of her sight for long. Her eye was constantly keeping him under surveillance. He too, though in diminished capacity, was doing the same.
Ayanda sat with Jade, her new best friend. Cathy was on the other side and Jade sat between them as the meat in the sandwich. Elizabeth was at the head of the table. It was her home after all, a home she had been content with opening up to strangers while shutting out her own blood.
Pritchard and Nelson had been taken away by security and relegated to the less luxurious comfort of the guest house. Disgraced and defeated, they had no choice but to collect their broken pieces and regroup away from the group.
The chefs had been busy and the quality on the table was showing. The aroma alone could satisfy hungry stomachs.
