I enjoyed the stay in the pub. Although I did not dance a lot, I still enjoyed moving my body to the music.
Drinking really allows you to loosen up. I was not a heavy drinker, and I only danced because Jane was too persistent. The night was getting darker and I knew that it was time to go. I cannot get drunk and nor can I let Jane drink a lot.
We both had a hectic day ahead. If it was a weekend then I would let Jane enjoy it a lot, but not know.
"Jane, don't be like this. Come on, we need to go." I said in a soft tone as I saw Jane shake her head in denial. She looked like a stubborn child. I knew that I cannot do anything but be patient.
"Jane, do you want me to call your family?" I asked as I saw the stiff face, Jane. I pouted as I thought. Jane is not listening to me even if I talk about her family. If not her family then what?
"Should I call your boyfriend?" As soon as my words were spoken, I saw Jane's eyes widen in shock. She shook her head like a bunny afraid of being caught.
I laughed as I supported Jane. "Come on here then."
"Let me help." A voice spoke, making me turn around. The man was tall and handsome, but his gaze was on Jane alone. I was in deep thought. I have seen this man before. As soon as I saw his side face, I knew where I had seen him. Wasn't he Jane's boyfriend?
But it was just my illusion. I narrowed my eyes as I stared at the man. Maybe I am hallucinating. Who knew?
The man saw I was unmoved so he took out his phone and dialed a number. I blinked in confusion and soon I saw Jane's phone ringing.
[Dear]
I knew that Jane had saved her boyfriend's name as 'Dear' on her phone. I had even made fun of this, telling her that this was way too cheesy.
I picked up the phone. I was sure that my senses were still on point. I looked at the man who was staring at me. 'Wait, I will show you.' I thought as I picked up the phone.
"Hello, you are Jane's boyfriend, right? Come here fast. A wolf-like man is staring at your girlfriend. He looks like a demon ready to read. Fast… Look, his eyes have widened and his mouth is seductive. Come fat! Otherwise, Jane will be seduced by this evil creature."
I said it one go. I could just hope that Jane's boyfriend would understand the severity of this and come fast. But soon the man in front of me laughed and I could hear the laughter from the receiver. "So an evil creature wants to take Jane?"
My eyes widened in shock. My hold on the phone loosened as it was about to slide down but my reflexes were still high. I caught it on time but the man took it from my hand. "I see you care for Jane."
I nodded my head. I was embarrassed. 'I swear to God, I will never drink again.'
"I am happy that Jane got such a good friend like you." The man took Jane in his arms but he still smiled at me. "Should I drop you at home along the way?"
I was happy. Jane had gotten herself a gentleman. I was about to reply when a deep voice came from behind me. "No need. I will take her home."
I knew this voice. I turned around as I smiled. We had encountered one another a lot today just like fate. Before I could understand, I smiled and said, "Andrew?"
Andrew stood there. He was still in his three-piece suit. Very out of place with the environment. But even so, he was the center of everyone's attention.
"You know her?" Jane's boyfriend asked.
My head was paining looking back and forth as I touched my forehead to stabilize the rotating room. I closed my eyes as I felt Andrew's hand on my shoulders.
"Take her with you, I will take care of Rose," Andrew said softly but his hold on me was tight. As if telling me not to refuse his words. I opened my eyes and Jane's boyfriend was still there with her in his arms.
"Do you trust him?" Jane's boyfriend asked me as he raised his eyebrows.
'Do I trust Andrew? I trust him, but should I really? I have only met him today. But he does not give me a bad feeling.' I was confused. But I soon made up my mind.
"I do. You take care of Jane." I smiled as I saw Jane's boyfriend nodding his head and leaving soon.
Once I saw that Jane was in safe hands I took a deep breath as I rested my head back, but to my surprise, it hit something hard. Confused, I turned around only to see Andrew looking at me.
'I completely forgot.' I thought as I smiled. I could feel my eyes closing by now.
"I should take you home." Andrew smiled as he led me the way. "Do you remember your address?"
'Do I remember it?' I do. I am not that dumb to forget that, but for some reason, I did not want to tell Andrew. It was not that I did not trust him, but because I lived alone and I haven't known the man for long.
"I do," I said as he opened my eyes wide. I was woken up from my drunkenness as I remembered that I needed enough sleep. "I'll take a taxi back."
I almost ran away while looking back. "You don't stay up and get back home safely."
"I should say that to you." I could hear Andrew say it. His voice was soft on my ears but I did not reply. My mind was filled with many things and getting home safe was the priority.
