As they fought slowly they realized he was a lot stronger than they originally thought. The warriors went from confidante to worried in hours but they kept fighting until they couldn't any more.
The whole time I sat worried and kept myself from crying. Sue was trying to calm me down but she was still asking what I had meant earlier. I didn't answer. Instead I kept walking back and forth nervous as hell.
It took hours before any of the warriors fell and stayed down but they did and I knew they would. Anthony hadn't even broken a sweat and I knew he was getting bored with the warriors. I also knew what would happen after all the warriors fell.
'Please, Don't do this Derrick. Please just stay out of it' I thought and stayed quiet as I paced back and forth. Finally the last warrior dropped and stayed down and at that Derrick walked up. My freak out started to sky rocket at that.
"Well done. I have to say, sadly, that I'm impressed. But now if you want to prove yourself to me. You have to fight me." I whimpered again and started to shift from one foot to the other. Rocking back and forth in fear.
"I would but I'd rather not piss off my best friend. Sorry but maybe some other time when she isn't around." When Anthony turned Derrick did something completely stupid. He rushed at him and I closed my eyes tightly when Anthony flipped him with ease.
"Really dude? You're that keen on fighting me after I put most of your warriors on their asses a million times?" Derrick just stood up and smirked.
"What can I say? I like challenges. I also like to show off to my mate." Jesus fuck.
"Show off another way then. Don't use me. I promise you that you will want to try another way to show off." Derrick rolled his eyes at Anthony and rushed him again which Anthony easily dodged while rolling his eyes.
"I'd rather show off now." I cursed. Damn it Derrick just drop it will you.
"Fine. Just Don't come crying to me when she gets mad at you." Derrick rolled his eyes and I hid a growl and immediately shot into Anthony's head in order to keep him calm.
'Please remember he's my mate and don't black out. He's really strong even though he's not as strong as us he is strong enough to keep us off of him. Not to mention he knows your moves now.'
'I promise I won't black out and I know he's been watching me and calculating that means it's time to switch it up' I sighed and paced as I watched and kept an eye on his mind so that when he blacks out I can get up there.
I watched horrified as they fought. Anthony was actually having a hard time for once since the hell hole we were stuck in years ago. The last time he had trouble like this was with me and I had won. This time I knew Derrick wouldn't win. I knew because slowly but surely Anthony was losing control and fighting like his life depended on it. The only thing keeping him from blacking out was me continuously reminding him that this wasn't like the ring. It wasn't life or death here.
But even though I continued to remind him It wasn't enough and I knew it. He was going to snap soon and I was going to have to stop him and I knew it. So when it happened I was up as far as the pack would allow. I had my purse close to me because the only thing that would stop him was in it. I would have to put him on the ground and use it.
I watched in horror as he dropped Derrick and I quickly shoved past the rest of the pack when Derrick couldn't get up already knowing what was going on even though no one else understood.
I had put my purse at the opening of the ring and Susan and some of the warriors that had time to rest up followed me.
"Don't touch him, I'll get him. He'll attack anyone near him and I'm the only one that will be able to stop him." They looked at me worriedly but I didn't stop to think about it. I just moved towards Anthony and when he flipped around to attack I moved even faster and dodged him while grabbing his arms and putting him on the ground while holding his arms behind his back. Everyone was just staring at us but I ignored it.
"My purse there's a syringe in there that I need. Hurry, Please." Derrick had bolted over to help me hold him down and sue went and grabbed my purse.
"Where is it?" I hid a curse when he jabbed me in the side with his elbow. Derrick growled and grabbed his upper arms so he couldn't do it again.
"Should be right on top or beside my wallet."She nodded and checked through it while Derrick held his arms down.
"What the hell is going on?" Tyler was not happy about this but grabbed his legs so he couldn't kick me.
"Can we talk about this after we've calmed him down please?" Tyler huffed but agreed to it and Susan brought over the syringe.
"How about what the hell is in that?" Susan was staring at the unknown liquid but I didn't think twice about it.
I pulled off the lid with my teeth and jabbed it into his arm. Derrick held as tight as he could but he still shoved his arm up which helped by a lot.
After that I pushed the thing down and the liquid slowly went in and as it did he slowly stopped fighting. When he finally stopped moving we let go of him and Derrick checked.
"He's out. What is that shit?" He looked up at me confused and concerned.
"The only thing that can put us out once we've blacked out. It's a really really strong sedative. I don't know the name of it, just that it works, which is all I need to know." Derrick, Susan, and Tyler looked at me like I was crazy. I ignored them and rolled Anthony over checking to make sure he was breathing the way he was supposed to be and thankfully he was.
"Ok. We're good. He's not going to wake up for a while. We need to take him inside so he can rest. Then we can talk.
"You're sure he's just asleep right? He's not going to die or anything right?" I nodded and They all relaxed.
"Trust me this has been used on me multiple times. It doesn't hurt us. Just knocks us out. Although I wouldn't try it on you all." I shrugged as I stood up. They all looked at me In shock and Derrick frowned.
"I am not ok with something that can't be used on me being used on you." I rolled my eyes as the warriors picked up Anthony.
"Good thing I don't plan on you ever having to use it then huh." I started following the warriors to the house and Derrick wrapped his arms around me.
"I guess but if it ends up I have to. That will be the last thing I try." I chuckled nervously but didn't reply. Susan and Tyler followed us just as quiet as I got.
When we got inside we took Anthony to Derrick's study and walked in. Tyler locked the door. After we got in and got settled Derrick sat down and rubbed his head.
"How bad did he hurt you?" Derrick looked up at me and shook his head.
"He just threw me on the ground. You got to him before he could do anything more. What I'd like to know is how you knew he had lost control. Anyone else watching had no idea. So how did you figure it out?" I sighed but nodded.
"Yeah I know you guys deserve an explanation. Can you just give me a minute to get it straight. I'm still in freak out mode right now." Derrick nodded and patted his lap but I stayed away and started to pace.
"Emmy. Come here love." I whimpered and shook my head.
"I need to move. I'm freaking out and moving helps with that." He sighed but stood up and walked over to me.
"We both know I'll be able to help more than moving around and you will help me calm down, so please just come here. I sighed and headed over to him but as I did he started to slowly fall down.
"Shit! Derrick!" I rushed over to him and caught him and Tyler was right behind me. As soon as we got him back into his chair I looked at the back of his head.
"Shit! You're bleeding!." Tyler looked back and cursed vigorously and headed to the door.
"I'll get dad. Just make sure he stays awake. Don't freak out, Emmy, he will be ok." I was slightly hyperventilating and whimpering.
"It's ok babe. I'm ok. Dad will look at it and patch it up and I will heal in a couple of hours." I whimpered at him.
"Ok but the thing is you're still hurt and I couldn't stop it. Why didn't you let me stop it? Why did you have to make the pack stop me?" He shook his head then winced and I let out another whimper.
"Here put this on it Emmy." I took whatever it was Sue handed me. I didn't even look away from Derrick. I quickly put whatever it was on his head as softly as I could but It still made him curse.
"Shit. I'm so sorry. Damn it I should have done something sooner. Damn it." Sue rubbed my back gently while I started to cry.
"I promise I'm fine Emmy. Please don't cry. Even if you had jumped in sooner I would have done whatever I could to stop you myself. Then things would have been worse. So it's better than It could have been." I winced at him because he was starting to talk slower than normal.
"Derrick. Stay awake. Please. Sue, help me. Please. I don't know what to do." She came around to the other side and started shaking him.
"Come on big brother. You're scaring Emmy. Sit up in the chair. It'll help." She made him sit up and I helped him while keeping the rag she had handed me as firmly as I could against his head.
"We're here!" I let out a sigh of relief. It was shaky and I was crying hysterically but I moved as Tyler grabbed the rag and Derrick's dad, Iven, Went to help him.
Sue quickly came to my side and so did Ace. They both hugged me tightly as I cried so very hard as they got him on a stretcher and down to the Hospital part of the house. I followed them running as fast as they were.
"Emmy! They aren't going to let you in with him!" I didn't care I would throw people out of the way if I had to. I would be there.
"Emmy. You can't go in you have to stay out. You'll just be in the way. Plus it will upset you more and you really need to calm down right now." I glared at Tyler when he stopped in front of the doors in order to keep me out.
" I'll stay out of the way but I need to be in there. I can't stay out here while my mate is in there with whatever is happening to him. This is all my fault. I need to help fix it." He shook his head at me.
"It's not your fault. Not to mention you can't help in there. I promise I won't leave his side. Please stay out here. It'll make Derrick feel better if you do." I whimpered at Tyler and even though I knew he was right I still had to force myself not to tackle him down and go in anyway.
"I can't stay out here. Please Tyler, I need to be with him." He looked at me sadly but wouldn't budge and I let out a frustrated noise and whimpered as I dropped my head in my hand.
"I got her Tyler. Go help them." Sue walked over and held me close as I started to bawl. I ended up wrapping my arms around her and cried into her shoulder. She hugged me tightly as her mom walked up.
"What's going on Sue. Is your brother ok?" Sue sighed but caught her mom up to speed and immediately Camille walked over and hugged me as well.
"It's not your fault that he's hurt. He shouldn't have started that damn fight in the first place. This isn't your fault sweetie." I just whimpered to her. No one is gonna be able to change my mind about this. I hated myself for all of this.
"She's not gonna believe us mom. She'll probably only believe Derrick."Her mom nodded but rubbed my back gently. As we waited for them to let us in they tried to calm me down which was all but impossible at the moment. I knew how bad head wounds were. I gave enough people the exact same wound but a thousand times worse.
"He's hurt and I didn't stop it in time. I should have stopped it sooner. I shouldn't have waited so long to jump in. I hate that I didn't stop the fight sooner." Sue sighed and her mom rubbed my back and shook her head.
After that they helped me to calm down and I started to pace. At least I was able to keep from crying and bawling my eyes out now. They sat down and watched me. I wish I could calm down enough to sit calmly but there was no way that was happening while my mate was in there. He was hurt badly and I couldn't be with him.
"Emmy, It's going to be ok. He will be fine. Iven is the best doctor the pack has. He will make sure it's all ok. I promise." I looked at Camille who smiled at me reassuringly and I tried to smile back and kept pacing.
We sat there for what seemed like hours before a warrior showed up telling me Anthony was awake. I looked at Sue pleadingly and she smiled at me.
"Don't worry I'll show him the way." I sighed in relief and nodded.
"Thank you so much sue and don't give him a hard time. That's my job once you get him here." Sue smirked and nodded.
"Oh no. I know how bad you're going to yell at him. I don't mind being quiet while I walk him to his doom." I rolled my eyes and continued to pace.
Luckily for Anthony It was a couple minutes after Sue left that Iven and Tyler walked out. As soon as the door opened I bolted in and they both moved out of my way.
When I got over to him he was asleep. He had a bandage around his head and he looked so peaceful. I was relieved when I saw his stomach move up and down and immediately went to the side of the bed. I sat there quietly and waited for him to wake up.
