Chapter 69 - Soraka, The Starchild.

Sett slowly opened his eyes. The first thing he saw was the starry sky, forming countless constellations.

The second thing was a figure that leaned over him. She had a slender lilac skinned body, with long white hair and a single horn on the forehead, along with goat-like legs. She wore a simple wanderer's outfit with a distinct palette of red, orange and some brown touches, including a cape.

Sett hadn't seen a more beautiful being in his life. He was captivated by her face, just as Lanius was captivated by Ahri's.

"It seems you woke up." The woman spoke with interest depicted on her face.

Sett was speechless. The woman smiled and got up."Your name, boy?"

Sett finally snapped out of it. "S-Sett. My name is Sett."

"Well Sett, I'm Soraka. Care to join me for tea? You'll also tell me what happened." the woman asked.

The Beast-Man slowly sat up and looked around him. He was inside a crystal blue pond, on a small field on top of one of the mountains.

Sett blinked in confusion and tilted his head to the side.

"What is it boy? Are you shy?" Soraka asked.

"No...not at all." The Beast-Man got up and realised that he was only wearing his pants and boots.

Furthermore, the frostbite, cuts and bruises on his body that he had earned from the Climb had completely healed. Only the very few scars across his body remained. The Beast-Man used his tongue to find that one hole that belonged to the missing tooth Lanius had knocked out a few weeks prior.

The tooth was there.

Sett looked around once more and then faced the woman. "It's...not cold up here. Neither cold, nor windy." he remarked.

"Well, it's a special place." Soraka remarked back. "Now come on."

Lanius haulted. In front of him stood a long wooden bridge, with the void being above him.

"Here you will face your future." the disembodied voice spoke again.

Lanius turned around, thinking about how far he climbed into those two days.

The young man faced the bridge again, only to meet Vitiate's snout starring directly into him.

Lanius backed away, momentarily scared by the sudden appearance of the frostwolf.

Vitiate then turned around and walked on the bridge, turning around once in a while to make sure that Lanius following him.

Lanius took a deep breath and stepped onto the wood plank.

Sett looked around him in unease as he held the cup of tea Soraka had given him.

Soraka on the other hand peaceful enjoyed her tea with her eyes closed.

The Beast-Man and the Seer sat sheiza style on a big orange blanket.

"So, what brought you up here?" Soraka finally asked as she opened her eyes.

"The Climb?" Sett muttered.

"Obviously. Nobody would decide to scale Targon without a motive, not even the mad." the Seer pointed out that.

"I...wanted to find out...where my father is." Sett replied and his ears flopped back.

"Your father? Would you like to tell me more about it?" Soraka insisted.

Sett sighed and took a sip, then spoke. "He left us when I was little. Left for Noxus to fight in the pits."

"But, don't you already know where he is?" Soraka questioned.

"I...want to make sure that I know he is there." Sett growled.

"But why are you so obsessed with finding where he is? What is it that fuels you to scale this mountain?" Soraka set down the mug.

"I...want to make him pay. He shattered my mother's heart. My mother is the only thing I have now." Sett stared at the blanket.

"You already know where he is. Proceeding with the task would only lead to your death. Climb back down and join your friends." the Seer advised him.

Sett's ears rose once again and he looked at her. "How do you know?"

Soraka chuckled. "Let's say that I'm no ordinary being."

Sett nodded. "I'll go back to them. But first, can you do me a favour?"

Soraka looked intrigued. "What is it that you seek from me, boy?"

Sett lied down, using Soraka's lap as pillow. "Guidance."

The Seer was caught of guard by that sudden move. She then smiled and gently brushed the Beast-Man's hair with her fingers.

"Very well then." she muttered as she leaned forward and gave a small kiss on the top of his head. "Let me guide you."

Sett's eyelids suddenly felt heavier and closed. The Beast-Man fell into a deep sleep full of dreams, stars and constellations.

Once he woke up the next day, he found no trace of the Seer.

The Beast-Man wore his coat yet again and took the way he came from, aiming to return to the bottoms of Mt.Targon. This time he was no longer uncertain, he had the Seer guide him.

The Protector watched as Sett took the path that led back to the bottoms.

Soraka approached and stood next to the Protector, where she also began to watch Sett climb down.

"I suppose you finally found a follower." the Protector spoke.

"It's you who found him and brought him to me." Soraka replied.

The Protector chuckled. "What Aspect of Protection would leave a climber unconscious and stranded in this cruel and harsh mountain?"

"The boy...only two years into his adulthood and he is already running a whole underworld." Soraka muttered. "No wonder he seeks my guidance."

"Everyone seeks guidance from one or the other, Soraka. The boy took an interest in you, and you accepted that." The Protector exclaimed.

Ahri continued to scan the mountains. Four days had passed since the two Ionians had began to scale Mt.Targon.

The rest of the Ionians were somewhere close, waiting for the moment that the vesani would spot one of the two climbers.

Her eyes were finally filled with hope as she saw the Beast-Man make it to the bottom.

He looked exhausted, yet a warm smile was carved onto his face.

"Sett's back!" Ahri called out.

The rest of the Ionians rushed towards his way.

"How did it go?"

"Where is Lanius?"

"Did you make it?"

The questions gunned Sett.

"One by one!" he pleaded. The Beast-Man sat down and spoke to them, mentioning the Seer in the end. "I don't know anything about Lanius though. Last I saw of him was at the very start. I think that he'll manage though."

Ahri turned around and looked at the mountain. She yet again clenched the ice pendant in her hands.
