Aurora Dupont sat in her study, every single light turned on for a sense of safety and belonging.
She stood in the middle of the room, not knowing what to do next.
Why did it turn out like this...
She was exhausted.
She thought happiness was within her reach, but out of the blue, this happened.
Deep in her thoughts, an unexpected knock sounded at the door.
Turning to look, she saw a man in a suit, about thirty-five years old with sharp features. "Hello, Mrs. Piers," he greeted.
"Hello…" Aurora replied. "Are you the lawyer?"
"Yes, Mrs. Piers, I'm Mr. Piers' private lawyer."
"Come in."
"Thank you."
The lawyer stepped in, behaving very politely, crossing no boundaries.
Are all lawyers this meticulous?
Sitting behind her desk, Aurora watched as the lawyer set his briefcase on the table, his hand resting on it protectively.
Aurora asked, "What brings you to see me?"
"Something extremely important, Mrs. Piers, something known only to you and me."
