Kai Piers' grip tightened. "Aurora Dupont, you're still protecting him, you still refuse to tell the truth, don't you!"
"Firstly, there's nothing to confess! Secondly, Mila isn't my child, but I will continue to raise her. Thirdly, there must be something wrong with this DNA report!"
Kai Piers desperately wanted a way to make her relent, but he just couldn't do it.
He couldn't bear to.
He loved her.
But he was running out of patience: "Bring Mila over for a confrontation. I need to ask her who her father really is!"
"You really want to tell Mila she's adopted, that she's not my biological child? Kai Piers, do you have any idea how cruel that would be to a child?"
"You won't tell me who the man is!"
"Kai Piers!" Aurora retorted, "If you want to question Mila, you will have to go through me first!"
Kai Piers stared at her. "Fine, fine, Aurora Dupont, you're banking on me not daring to lay a finger on you!"
