What are you doing?
Upon hearing her ask this, Kai Piers lazily answered, "Accompanying you."
Aurora Dupont said, "No need."
Kai Piers suddenly sighed softly, "I know there are many things waiting for me to handle at the company. But Aurora, I'm really afraid."
He was afraid that once he left, by the time he came back, Aurora would have already left.
The person would be gone, disappearing as if she had never been there in the first place.
Aurora drank her milk, not responding.
Mila suddenly asks, "Daddy, what are you afraid of? Mommy said she would stay at home from now on, not going anywhere."
"Yes, I know," said Kai Piers, "but Daddy is still scared that Mommy might leave with you again."
"No, she won't. I want to be with Daddy."
Kai Piers looked at Mila, his smile gentle.
"I really won't leave. I swear," said Aurora, "so now you can relax, you can... go to the company, right?"
"I can't relax. I don't want to go anywhere today, I just want to be with you and Mila."
