"Have I fallen so low that everyone is pitying me now?"
"It's concern, not pity." Lissy Lock replied, "What's there to pity about you? You have everything, you lack nothing."
Kai Piers chuckled.
Lissy Lock had begun to mention the words "Aurora Dupont" less and less, especially in front of Kai Piers.
She was afraid that bringing her up from time to time would hurt Kai Piers, she didn't want to poke at his sore spots.
Lissy Lock covered her nose: "Hey, hey, hey, how much have you been drinking?"
"Not much."
"Then why do you reek of alcohol?"
Kai Piers glanced at her: "You've got quite a nose, don't you?"
"You smell of alcohol, even from across the table."
"Then you should move away." Kai Piers replied, "You're the bride. Shouldn't you be attending to your guests?"
"I don't know them. I only know you."
"How is that possible?"
"If I go over to Oliver Winslow and Ava Gibson's side, I'll be the third wheel."
