As she was rushing down the stairs, she stepped on her skirt hem, tripped over herself, and ended up rolling down the stairs.
Luckily, there were only three or four stairs, so it wasn't a big deal. She quickly got up again and continued to hobble forward.
Upon seeing this, Kai Piers was almost too taken aback to speak: "Aurora! Are you okay?"
But Aurora Dupont ran off swiftly, despite her limping steps.
She seemed impervious to pain.
Kai Piers was scared and startled, Aurora was not acting like herself.
He hastened his pace, finally catching up with her. Seeing her limping, without hesitation he picked her up.
"Let go, let... let me go…" Aurora Dupont suddenly started crying, "I need to see my dad, I need to see him! Is he okay? How is he doing?!"
"I'll take you there!" Kai Piers shouted, "You've hurt yourself!"
"I need to get to the ER!"
Kai Piers shouted back: "That's where I'm taking you now!"
