Looking at Lissy Lock's serious expression, John Fame weighed up his response in his heart and then spoke, his face unchanging, "No."
Lissy Lock eyed him suspiciously, "No? But today isn't the day for a prenatal checkup!"
"The doctor called," he said, "They've moved the appointment up because it's late into the pregnancy. Checkups will be more frequent to monitor the child's development."
Lissy Lock let out a "Oh," "That makes sense."
John Fame then hugged her tightly, "Right, so now we're heading to the hospital."
Hearing this, Lissy Lock relaxed. She had no more questions and leant against him, blankly watching the scenery outside the car window.
A hint of a smile flashed across John Fame's eyes but quickly disappeared.
That being said, this yet-to-start legal battle was really a headache. All John Fame wanted now was to settle it quickly so that Lissy Lock could have some peace and not have to go through this turmoil anymore.
He felt restless.
