Half an hour later, Lissy Lock and Aurora Dupont descended the stairs together.
The butler had been waiting downstairs all along, not daring to go far. Now that he saw Mrs. Fame and Miss Dupont coming donwstairs, he hurriedly welcomed them.
"Mrs. Fame, Miss Dupont."
Lissy Lock touched her hair at her ear: "Is breakfast ready?"
"It's been prepared, I will get it served in the dining room right away."
Lissy Lock nodded her head, turned to Aurora Dupont, and said, "You should eat some too."
The two women went to the dining room, sitting opposite each other as they ate their breakfast. They chatted intermittently with the butler standing not too far away, keeping an eye on the situation.
Their conversation was not loud, but it was enough to be heard by everyone in the dining room.
Aurora Deepton took a sip of milk and laughed, "Lissy, the gown I picked for you last time wasn't bad, right? You looked beautiful in it at the party. That brand really suits you."
