Matteo Quirke sounded quite displeased: "Aurora Dupont, it's terrible for you to stay in your room all day, refusing all my invites for a date."
"What's so terrible about it?"
"Such a beauty like you hiding at home is a waste. If I don't take you out, no one would know that I have such a beautiful and elegant girlfriend."
Aurora couldn't help but laugh, and lightly tapped him: "You're full of honeyed words, aren't you, Matteo Quirke."
"Not only am I full of honeyed words, I also have the battle strength," replied Matteo Quirke, "They flaunt their love, but I can do it even more loudly, enough to drive Kai Piers… mad."
Aurora's smile froze, and her eyes dulled.
Seeing her reaction, Matteo Quirke tightened his hold on her hand: "Aurora, are you reluctant?"
"I'm not giving up anything. He's him, and I'm me. I just think it's unnecessary; when he gets mad, I'm the one who'll suffer."
"With me here," said Matteo Quirke, "I'll protect you."
