When she had just walked over, she had overheard the conversation between her dad and Aunt. So Lissy was really surprised when Harper Wood suddenly announced she had a present for her.
Lincoln Dupont looked perplexed as well. "Really?"
Harper Wood nodded confidently. "Absolutely."
Then, she smiled and asked, "Lincoln, do you remember running into Mrs. Quirke at the entrance of the department store?"
"I do."
But what does that have to do with Aurora's gift?
"A few days ago, I had afternoon tea with Mrs. Quirke. She mentioned that her son would soon be returning from the United States."
Aurora frowned, Mrs. Quirke? Which Mrs. Quirke?
After saying this, Harper Wood smiled and stopped talking, not revealing anymore.
However, Lincoln Dupont understood now.
He turned to look at Aurora. "Mrs. Quirke's son is highly accomplished, and young too, Aurora."
Even if Aurora was slow on the uptake, she could understand the implication.
