John Fame's thin lips moved, but the many words of rebuke that were supposed to be said were stuck in his throat, unsaid.
Lissy Lock softly explained, "After you left, I went looking for you. I asked Kai Piers, who told me you might be here, so... so I came looking."
John Fame's furrowed brow relaxed, and he held her in his arms even tighter.
Aurora Dupont, who arrived behind John Fame, paused when she heard the name Lissy Lock mentioned, then returned to her usual composure.
"Why wouldn't you just call me?" he asked. "Why are you so silly?"
"I did, but you didn't answer, so I stopped calling," she replied.
John Fame couldn't describe the feeling in his heart, his eyes shuddering slightly.
Lissy Lock, still somewhat on edge, moved closer to John Fame. "Did I... cause you any trouble again? I came to tell you that I never..."
"Alright." John interrupted, drawing her closer. "We can talk about these things when we get home."
"Alright," she nodded.
