Aurora Dupont, while verbally expressing her dismay, resignedly approached Kai Piers.
Kai chuckled, pulled a chair to the front, and swiftly yanked Aurora onto the soft leather seat.
Resting his hands on the armrests, he imprisoned her in a space of his own, "Aurora, this is the first time you've come to me on your own, do you realize that?"
Aurora looked at him, slowly moving her gaze away from his face, focusing on his tie, avoiding his eyes.
Whenever Kai looked at her, it terrified her.
The eyes that once mesmerized her no longer saw her.
"Even though it's for something else, I'm… quite surprised that you've come to me."
Aurora spoke up quietly, "Let's just talk. If someone comes in and sees us like this, it would lead to huge misunderstandings."
"What is there to misunderstand? Riley … she trusts me."
"Kai Piers, if there's anything you want to said, just say it. If you don't want to share, I wouldn't force you," Aurora looked up at him, "I don't need to insist."
