Matteo Quirke nodded lightly when he heard what she said.
There seemed to be no topic to talk about between them, plunging them into a temporary awkward silence.
After a while, Matteo Quirke lifted his hand, gently resting it on her shoulder, his fingers arranging her hair that lay on her shoulders to fall behind her, then he said something.
"You look beautiful today," he said.
Aurora Dupont gave him a smile, "At home, it's all about being comfortable."
Matteo Quirke restrained himself, resisting the urge to pull her into his arms, realizing after all that they were at the Dupont Family's house.
"Um, well... I'll go first. If, if you need anything at all, remember, I'll always be by your side," he said.
Aurora Dupont nodded, "Alright. Take care."
Matteo Quirke straightened up, opened the car door, and left without a backward glance.
There was still one thing he didn't say in the end.
Maybe he would never say it.
