"Mhmm."
Lissy Lock responded dryly and then turned to go upstairs.
John Fame withdrew his gaze, lowered his head, glanced at Luca and his lips lifted slightly at the corners.
Lissy had reached the foot of the stairs. She stopped, thought for a moment, turned around, and saw that John Fame had his head lowered, playing with Luca, oblivious to her presence.
Lissy felt even more suffocated inside!
Why hadn't he noticed, even a bit, that she was unhappy? Was her disappointment not clear enough?
Or was it that her anger manifested so naturally that it was overlooked?
Or, after being together with John Fame for so long and settling into the mundanity of married life, do they now overlook these small details?
While walking up the stairs, Lissy continued to ponder.
By right, it shouldn't be possible. John Fame was usually very perceptive. He could always notice even the slightest abnormality, so why was he not as keen today?
