Kai Piers unexpectedly asked such a question, leaving Lissy Lock unsure of how to respond.
He whispered again, "Five years, I've done everything for her. But the result... has led to this."
"I don't know what exactly has happened between you two," said Lissy, "but, I can say with complete certainty that you truly, truly, love Aurora."
Kai Piers slightly turned his gaze to her, staring intently.
"Not everyone can endure these long, lonely five years of misunderstandings. Perhaps, Kai, neither you nor Aurora are at fault... the blame... lies with the love itself."
"No," Kai shook his head, "Anything else can be wrong. But my love for her can't and won't be wrong!"
"But when love has come to this point and turns into suffering, it no longer holds the beauty it used to."
"I employed the wrong methods." Kai sighed, "I understand Aurora's character. I shouldn't have pressured her. I was too impatient, too desperate to win her over."
