Aurora Dupont was taken aback. In theory, John Fame rarely intervened in the cooperative cases she handled as a director, only needing to see the results.
He must have seen her and Kai Piers together entertaining clients that day.
"Very good," said Aurora Dupont, "Everything is going smoothly, the contract will be signed in a couple of days."
"Will your work be affected recently?" John Fame asked, "Like...personal feelings?"
"What could possibly affect me? I can separate my work from personal issues. It's just Kai's wedding. I'll be a bridesmaid, make an appearance, and it will be all done in a day."
"A day?"
"What else? I'm not the protagonist."
John Fame gave a slight smile, his lips curving upwards, but didn't say anything more.
Instead, Aurora Dupont casually asked, "How about Lissy Lock? Is she doing fine? It must be tough for her, being pregnant."
John Fame answered in a mild tone, "She's as active as ever, without a moment's rest."
