Lissy Lock looked at him with astonishment, not blinking an eye.
John Fame felt a stir in his heart under her clear gaze, his anger subsiding.

John Fame's tone was heavy, as if bringing Lissy Lock back to that terrifying and bloody night.
She shivered all over, her skin crawling with goosebumps. She didn't dare to think back and quickly snuggled into John Fame's embrace.
