Josiah Baker turned and smiled at her, "Did you hear? Eleven o'clock tonight, Lissy Lock. Do you know why I chose tonight?"
Lissy shook her head.
"Because I won't give him time to prepare and set up ambushes."
After Josiah finished speaking, he walked out laughing. The laughter echoed in Lissy's mind, resonating like a haunting specter, causing her to involuntarily shrink back, her heart sinking into a seemingly bottomless abyss.
She still couldn't understand why John Fame agreed.
She hoped he had an escape plan and had prepared in advance. Not... trading himself for her.
