"It can't be fully explained over the phone."
Jim Fame looked at him and then sighed, "Ah, go ahead and do whatever you two like. Now that she's pregnant, I don't have any other demands. If you want to live separately or anything like that, I'll turn a blind eye."
"I understand," responded John.
"So ... What was the significance of the message you passed on to me by phone yesterday?"
Having heard this, John suddenly smiled.
"Grandpa, what do you think... could it signify?"
Jim Fame stared at him with somewhat cloudy eyes that betrayed his evident nervousness. "I just couldn't believe it because I remembered that incident. So I had to ask you in person."
"To pay a debt, the Winslows," John articulated each word clearly, "Grandpa, do you think what I said wasn't clear enough?"
Jim Fame gasped, his lips trembling uncontrollably: "Did they really...really return?"
