"I..."
Lissy Lock hesitated, unsure whether to speak or not.
John Fame saw the look on her face, but said nothing.
"It's nothing," Lissy said, "just a nightmare. I'm fine, you...you can leave now, I'm going to continue sleeping..."
But John Fame stayed right where he was, not moving.
"A nightmare?"
"Yes...yes," Lissy said, "just a nightmare. It's late, you should rest too, I won't disturb you anymore..."
"What if you continue talking in your sleep for the rest of the night?"
"I won't..."
John Fame raised an eyebrow slightly: "Can you guarantee that?"
Before Lissy could answer, John Fame spoke again: "I heard clearly what you kept saying over and over again."
In fact, all John Fame wanted was for Lissy to be truthful with him.
Tell him about her fears, her uncertainties, all of it. Tell him that she...was really scared.
But she insisted that it was nothing, just a nightmare.
Lissy's expression obviously stiffened: "Ah...ah? Have you been here a long time?"
