Aurora Dupont wanted to laugh, her lips twitched, but she couldn't force a smile.
What was the point of Kai Piers saying such things now?
Who was he trying to convince?
"Well, your memory is quite good, brother-in-law," Aurora said with a sigh. "Since I seem to be wrong no matter what I do, I think it's better if I don't go anywhere today."
She thought carefully about Kai's words, realizing he had a point.
If Lissy Lock really wanted her to go, she would have told her right after the incident, sharing her grievances.
Instead Lissy had let Walter Smith tell her, as if nothing had happened.
From this perspective, Aurora was indeed being too nosy.
With this in mind, Aurora felt relieved. She decided to visit Lissy at a more appropriate time. Now... it wouldn't be fitting.
"Are you sure you're not going?"
"I'm not going," Aurora said. "I'm returning to the office."
Saying so, she walked past Kai towards the office.
