Hearing these words, Kai Piers felt a sharp tug in his heart.
Aurora Dupont looked at him, visibly bewildered: "Kai Piers, I failed, I didn't make it. Will Lissy Lock's fate inevitably be the same as mine... to be abandoned and cast aside?"
"No!" Kai Piers couldn't hold back any longer, grunting out his words. "Aurora Dupont, you were not abandoned!"
His sudden outburst woke Aurora from her reverie, causing her to look at him in a panic.
A few seconds later, Aurora walked out of the office, a frantic whirlwind trying hard to keep a steady form.
Kai Piers stood behind the door, watching as Aurora retreated into the chaotic abyss.
Aurora Dupont, you really... haven't been abandoned.
Aurora was in a daze all the way till the end of the working day, oblivious to her surroundings. She sat in her car for a long while before managing to gather herself to drive off.
She had to focus on driving, given her distraught state, she wouldn't dare hit the highway.
