Drake was eager to get the matter off his mind first. The look on Caidine's face when she said she had something to say put him on an edge. He had no faintest idea of what might had made her so serious and scared at the same time.
SHOULD I HAD HEAR HER OUT FIRST?
The rethink was no longer necessary.
"What's it that you want to say?"
She questioned. He slowly dropped his hands from her cheeks.
"I hope it's not some dumb thing."
Her face tuned into a glare. Drake wanted to laugh at her reaction but he couldn't stomach it. It was a serious matter.
"Let's leave here first."
He made to leave. He didn't know why he kept wanting to avoid it. When he got on his way coming here, he'd made up his mind to let it out. But what now?
"No, say it here. After all, you ruined my chance."
She grabbed his arm, not wanting him to go. Drake looked slowly back at her.
