The next few seconds happened so quickly that Drake thought that he was held up in a trance. His eyes were closed but his hands were moving on the wheels, a strange current surging through his body, Caidine's scream scaring the hell out of him!
Suddenly there was peace and quiet. As though the world was shut away from him. His eyes began to open slowly till his version was clear enough, and his consciousness steady enough to tell him where he was.
He was seated in the car, by the roadside, honking of cars were heard from his left. To his right was Caidine, her arms and hands across her face and head.
I DIDN'T DIE? DID I?
That was a very unnecessary question. If he was dead, would he be assuming the same position?
"Caidine, you're fine. It's fine. We are safe."
Caidine didn't look up yet. He felt really sorry for her. He hated the fact that, he'd only saved her from a trauma just to plunge her into another one.
