Drake drove into an open garden at the front of a house clothed by the swelling gloom. Twas already night. He parked and stepped off the car.
He could see a large tree planted in the heart of the garden; the tree was lit up with white electric bulbs hanging down cables reaching from one branch to another.
There was someone seated on a chair by the tree. He could see the face clearly as he got to the person.
"I heard that you came by my office. It only means one thing, you already have a change of --"
Drake made Hailie choke on her words; he locked up her lips with his, owning her lips for a few seconds. Hailie didn't fight it, after all it was all her idea. But, she obviously wasn't expecting Drake to be that upfront.
Drake finally let go, pulling away. Hailie looked up at him in astonishment. Drake traced her nose to her wet lips; the lips he'd just made wet.
Then they both heard approaching footsteps behind him.
