Darren said that some people were about to attack them at once. He looked for a gap and listened to the conversation of the people standing at the door.
"It should be time to loot them."
"Turns out putting the girl as bait went well." As Darren suspected when he first saw the village, the people there seemed not to live there.
Many houses have almost collapsed and are uninhabited. He found a crowd of tents. The people they're trying to cover their eyes on the way to the inn. Those people don't look like residents of the village. There are lots of points and items that don't seem to belong to their owners.
Older people who use sticks can also walk well from below. Hale found he had found the people there slowly walking towards the front. Darren was there and probably didn't know that the people there were moving in.
