Likewise, Darren wanted to help them prepare supplies but was restrained by Hale because he was afraid to eat his food which was too spicy. So he is only recommended to help with simple things.

She shook her head, trying to cheer herself up. He also invited Nana, before leaving to appoint a person from the village as the head to report on people's activities so that something similar would not happen.
Nana's eyes shone because she knew that Susan's father was a good person and Susan was her sister's close friend. She was happy enough to do so so that nothing else would be sacrificed.
It didn't feel like it was noon, and preparations had been made for supplies on the road. Nana rode Darren's black horse for fear of tiredness, so the black horse would take him to Rhodes.
