Eren searched for a vehicle he could use while walking through the streets. He was lucky. Very lucky. A few streets down from his house, he entered a house with a garden with a bicycle in front of the door. The bike was not one of the new and colorful models as usual, but a very old model with a basket in front of it. A very old, rusty, 90's grandpa made with heavy metal.
But for Eren, who was going to walk to the bazaar, this bike was a great luxury. He couldn't reach the keys of the motor or electric bikes because he couldn't enter the surrounding houses. So he got on his bike and started riding downhill.
"I can't get in yet." He had seen a sports model racing motor in the garden of a villa down in the neighborhood where his home was located. He wanted to use that engine if possible before this dream ended.
Even though he had seen so much blood and brutality in the temple, he was still an 18-year-old human inside him. He was an ordinary person, the child of a middle-class family who had never lived a luxurious life yet. He dreamed of engines, cars and luxury homes.
..
He passed a school that looked like the high school he attended. This was a lower-level high school similar to his school, but with fewer points. If Eren got a few points lower in the exam, he would have to go to this high school, and he would enter an environment where there was constant fighting and noise.
He looked down at this school with disdain, remembering the quiet atmosphere and top teachers of his own high school. Eren was not an egotistical person, but inside he thought he was above this level.
A few streets further down he entered the path of a small market with fishermen. He felt a little awkward here, lacking the nasty fishy smell he always smelled. All his life he had experienced this sight and the smell of fish together. Now the absence of the scent gave him disturbing thoughts.
"Isn't this just a dream?"
But when he lifted his head, he could see the flaming meteor in a cloudless and stormy sky.
"It must be a dream."
As Eren was used to seeing no people around, and just as he was leaving the fish market, he felt something strange. He stopped the bike and turned around. Looking around, there was something that wasn't there before.
This smell.
Fish.
Now the whole fish market area had the smell he remembered.
Relieved, he continued his descent downhill from the market.
..
He entered the small bazaar in the center of the city that people call the "long bazaar", but actually half a kilometer long. His heart raced as he entered the bazaar on the empty roads opposite the municipality, where there was no traffic.
Seeing this scene so empty and lifeless scared him even more than the dark corridors of the Temple or the bloody robots.
He walked to an internet cafe, which he loved to go to since childhood. He passed through familiar streets. Seeing that the door was open, he left the bike and entered the familiar shop. He didn't look at the little restaurant directly across from this building, the doner shop across the street, and the tax office above. They all held so many memories and emotions.
He also had a lot of hesitations because he knew that he would come out of this dream after a while. He missed his family and home.
Just as he entered the internet cafe, he saw that it was dark inside. He wanted to use his phone's flash to light up the place. But at that moment he remembered that his cell phone was in the Temple. He immediately ran to the telephone shop in a back alley. Its door was closed, but with a heavy chair he knocked on the window and broke it in one go.
"Shouldn't I hit it a few times? Are those glasses that thin? It's not safe at all if they're all like that... weird."
Eren had forgotten that during his time in the Temple, he had evolved at least half a time ahead of a normal human. All his genetic stats were between 2.8 and 2.9.
..
He bought two of the latest models of Tphone, which he always wanted but sold very expensively in his country. He threw one in his bag as a spare and made sure to grab one of the flashiest headphones. With quality headphones hanging around his neck, he felt cooler now.
He toured the shop, feeling more satisfied inside. He threw one of the things like charger, cable and powerbank into his bag and returned to the internet cafe.
Nothing happened when Eren forced the lights of the room inside. There was no electricity. But when he turned on all the switches behind the huge metal panel on the wall, the whole cafe suddenly lit up. All electronic systems such as LED lights, decorative panels, beverage cabinets at the bottom of the wall and all high-equipped computers came to life.
He turned on the computer and waited for the internet to come. Eren was really looking forward to learning something in great impatience. He hadn't thought about how valuable the internet was before.
He grew up in a time when the internet was always there, just like water and electricity. People of his generation couldn't understand a lifestyle without the internet.
Although, after the last months without internet, things had changed for Eren. Still, he sought the Internet in his life, as well as water and electricity. It was part of his lifestyle, the right of young people like him.
He sighed, knowing that to use the Maevis' internet at the temple, he had to go up to at least the 10th floor. "I don't care if the Temple's internet explodes after I reach the 10th floor. I'm going to get out of there anyway and go home. Unlucky."
