After the call, a heavy silence filled the living room, as Rowan gently pat her head without a word, her calm down.
Rose gently shut her eyes, slowly getting rid of her earlier strong reaction. Ever since she became the Katz matriarch, she had gained a strange ability of being able to hear people's thoughts. The ability didn't last long though as it one disappeared the same way it came. Naturally, she was confused but didn't dwell on it that much.
She took a deep sigh as she recalled the weird dreams she has been having for the past couple of days. Could it be linked to her parents? Could it be the reason they hate her is way deeper than it looks? Could it be linked to the special ability? Did her grandparents experience the same?
Rowan observed her lost in thought and wanted to say something, but feared her response. Sensing the hesitation coming from him despite her thoughts, Rose inaudibly murmured.
"Say it…"
