Chapter 19 - Diana's story

She knew how it felt being unloved, she knew how it felt being shunned aside but the rest of what she went through is something she hasn't experienced and can't imagine someone going through such and still having the energy to walk around. She thought she had gone through enough in life but on seeing her situation, reading everything and going through different clips over and over again, she can attest that she has had it better in life.

Diana comes from the famous Adams family and is their first born daughter. Just like her, her parents wanted a boy so bad since they were still stuck on their stereotypes and when they got Diana, they despised her the very moment she was born, going ahead to call her an outcast and a curse.

Growing up, Diana never received any favour and at just 3 years old, she had already taught herself to be independent. Everything she knew, she had personally taught herself and learned some from her classmates at school.

She had learnt the hard way and never bothered her parents despite all that they did to her, despite the fact that she really craved for their love. Her life did a whole 360° when her mother got pregnant and gave birth to another daughter, three years younger than her.

She thought that life would be the same for her sister but her parents treated her sister, Anita as if she was their whole world. They didn't see anyone other than Anita. As if sensing the favouritism, Anita started using it to her advantage and if Diana thought her life was already tough, Anita made sure to make it unbearable to the point the girl almost committed suicide four times.

Each time, her parents turned a blind eye to her and when the young master of the Jones family expressed his interest towards Diana, they were overjoyed since The Jones were three ladders above them but of course, Anita wasn't going to let Diana find happiness.

Diana had really fallen in love with Robert Jones but after a series of seduction from Anita, the man ended up switching his arrangement claiming he had fallen for Anita instead. Diana, whose heart had already been broken couldn't withstand the further heartbreak and decided to leave home during her college years, not intending to have any further contact with her family but every single day, she could see news about the little group, either on how Robert pampered her with expensive gifts every day or how much her parents doted on her. It was in this same manner that everyone forgot that the Adams family has two daughters. Diana didn't mind though because the far she was from them the better her life felt.

Once again, Anita proved her wrong as she made sure wherever Diana stepped then she would make sure to hinder her progress and happiness. Despite that, Diana never gave up, she struggled, payed her own college tuition until she finally got to work in one of the best departments in Katz Cooperation.

During her period of working here, her sister alongside different bullies would always find a way to create trouble for her, either humiliating her before her admirers or trying to get her fired. Her success as the marketing director of the company has always been Anita's sore spot. She knows that the moment her parents find about Diana and the Katz Cooperation then they would start favouring her!

Rose continued reading every thing before shutting her laptop with a heavy sigh. She took of her heels and walked barefoot to the room and once she peeped in, her heart couldn't help but feel bruised for the girl.

Yes, they are both shunned by their parents but atleast she has her grandparents and the Aldrich family. Diana on the other hand has nothing, not even a best friend! The more she stared at her the more determined Rose became. She was going to nurture, grow and protect this little bird and teach her how to bare her fangs and claws to all that want to harm her. She was going to introduce her to Cora and slowly have her experience true love from friends who might one day become family.

Diana on the other hand ended up sleeping for the whole day and by the time she woke up, she realised that the whole room was dark with an exception of the city lights shining.

She quickly jolted out of bed and rushed out only to find Rose focused on her documents, her classy pen on her right hand as she signed them one after the other.

"President, I am so sorry and allow me to fully start my duty tomorrow." She swiftly said, trying to straighten her posture intending to look serious but the sleepiness in her eyes made her look cute instead.

Rose gave her a gentle smile as she directed her to pack her things since she also wanted to leave. Diana quickly picked her items as she followed her boss, barely able to suppress her happiness. It had now hit her that she is the P.A of the president!! She was going to work side by side with Rose and she honestly couldn't wait. They both got into their cars as each went their separate ways in preparation for yet another day to come.

"What a day!" Rose tiredly murmured as she cooked her rice, yawning from time to time. She was busy preparing her meal when her personal phone rang.

The moment she picked it, she expected an immediate response from the other end but all she got was silence. "Hello?" Even after making her presence known, the other end didn't reaspond making her frown as she cut the call short.

"Damn!" Rowan cursed on the other end wondering what was wrong with him. He wanted to hear her voice so bad. The man even had a speech prepared but the moment she picked up the phone, his mind went blank, his mouth immediately unable to voice his feelings.

'Well...we try again next time.' He softly whispered to himself as he kissed the photo on his bedside table. The man had crazily framed the photo of both of them on stage, the one with only Rose on stage and alot more from different angles. If one could see his bedroom now they would mistake him for a stalker because of the different photos hanging from different places, all belonging to the same person. He tucked himself to sleep with a wide smile knowing that the next day he was going to have a meeting with her. His wife. The love of his life..

On the other side of town a beautiful woman stood before her mirror as she scanned herself from head to toe before nodding her head in satisfaction, happiness evident in her eyes.

"God.. I now get the reward for never losing hope and faith in you..despite all I have gone through in life you still found a way out for me and this time round I feel I will be receiving surprises from you on a daily basis!"

Diana genuinely smiled at her reflection before heading to her closet and setting aside her clothes for tomorrow. Her excitement can be compared to that of a kid who knows they are about to be taken to their favourite candy store. The anticipation and eagerness in her face wasn't something one can ignore even if they wanted to.

Click..click.. click..The powerful sound of heels attracted the attention of anyone in the lobby as they all watched a woman dressed in a white blouse and a black pencil skirt, paired with a high ponytail and black red bottoms make her way into the company. On her left had were some files while her right hand carried her purse.

"Good morning Miss Diana." They all politely greeted her as some even bowed but the girl in question politely but coldly replied back immediately.

Before any of the gossip girls could dare say a thing, another sound of heels was heard behind Diana and when everyone turned to take a look their eyes were blessed with an elegantly dressed Rose, her suit jacket hanging on her shoulders as her pants elegantly tucked in her white flawless shirt, her hair similarly put in a ponytail.

The two ladies briefly greeted each other as they equally responded to the greetings around them.

As they both headed towards the same direction, most people couldn't help but breathe normally as the presence of the two ladies unknowingly suffocated them due to their coldness.

Most of the employees were left wondering and speculating on whether the Diana they know had been faking her innocence all this while.
