Chapter 45 - 32 -A

"So it's over, right?"

"Yeah... you can go home."

"Okay...."

I'm still looking down, but a pair of crimson sneakers tickle me. Moreover, plaid pants are like my skirt. That's a sign if the person talking to the police is a Pelita Mulya high school student, right?

Slowly, I lifted my face to see who the shoes' owner was. He is the guy who, a few minutes ago, was still on my mind. That guy is... Ricky. Yes... that's him.

Why is he here? Did he lose, then he rioted, which resulted in him going to jail? But if so... why didn't Miss Marita say anything about it?

"Sorry, Mr. Irawan... I know this student well. I am his friend, and he is a good boy. I'm sure he rioted because he had to, sir. I—"

"Hahaha... what are you talking about?" I screamed in surprise. When the policeman named Irawan laughed while embracing Ricky, it was as if they knew each other.

"Nilam? Is you here? How come?"

"So you two know each other?"

"Yes, uncle, she is Nilam... my girl."

"School first was right...don't go out and fight, just work."

"That's easy!" I can only watch when Mr. Irawan and Ricky tell each other. It seemed they got along. "Oh... why are you here? You sit down first, okay... I'll get you some water. Your face looks like a living corpse. It's pale."

"He cried when uncle brought her motorbike. she didn't have a driver's license but rode a motorbike," replied Mr. Irawan. Ricky just nodded then he left. Meanwhile, Mr. Irawan and I are now sitting. On the brown bench on the right side of the room.

"Sorry... I thought Ricky was in jail, Uncle Police." softly. Following the way to call Ricky 'uncle'.

"Ricky? Why go to jail?" he asked with a look that held back a smile. Am I wrong? I don't know why he laughed at me.

"Isn't it rumored that Ricky has been in and out of jail. Then... he was also in rehab for drugs?" I said, which was more like a question.

"Then, if you already know Ricky like that. Why do you still want him? You're not afraid of thugs like Ricky?" I become confused. Why have this policeman and I been throwing questions at each other without any answers?

"Hahahaha, where did Ricky get out of—to jail? He's uncle's nephew. He often comes here to play. Also, let some friends, Ricky's massage is the best!"

"Is it true, Uncle?" I asked, still in disbelief. Mr Irwan nodded vehemently, and then he grabbed both of my shoulders.

"Ricky's a good kid. Just a little, well... that's normal. Teenage acquaintances. As long as it doesn't go too far."

"But-"

"When it comes to rehabilitation, you say, he did, but not because of drugs. More specifically, because—"

"Oh, stop bothering my girl!"

Because of what?

I saw Ricky's face that looked displeased.Mr Irwan shifted his sitting position, letting Ricky sit between us. Then Ricky gave me a glass of water.

"Drink... after this, and I'll take you home, okay?"
